Sibille Hart Pritchard
Sibille Hart Pritchard is an accomplished businesswoman with a professional background in journalism, public and government relations, commercial and tourism development and international business development for the state of Florida with worldwide destinations such as Japan, China and South Korea.
As founder of Hart Communications, her leadership in commercial and tourism development has been an integral component of major Central Florida projects, including tourism corridors Bonnet Creek and South I-Drive/ Plaza International, as well as the Waldorf Astoria Orlando Hotel, the first Waldorf property opened outside of New York.
A native of Guyana, South America, Pritchard received her education in Europe and in several parts of the Caribbean. Her career began in journalism, where she spent 15 years as an award-winning women’s editor for the Guyana Graphic newspaper in Guyana.
An active business figure and arts enthusiast, Pritchard’s expertise and guidance have been sought after for numerous boards and organizations. She currently serves as: chair of the Orlando Ballet’s building committee; board chairperson, UCF Global Connections Foundation; board member, UCF Department of Arts; board member, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts; board member, Orlando Science Center and chair of the International Drive Improvement District since its inception, an appointment by the mayor of Orange County. She is also a board member and manages affairs for the noted Chelonian Research Institute, founded by her husband, world-renowned expert in the study, research and preservation of turtles, Dr. Peter Pritchard, one of Time magazine’s Heroes of the Planet.
Sibille previously served as: chairperson of the Florida Delegation for the Southeast U.S./Japan and the Southeast U.S./China Associations; chair of the Florida Arts Council, an appointment from the governor; president and chairperson for United Arts of Central Florida; board president for the Association to Preserve the Eatonville Community; board president for Arts for Complete Education; community board member for the Florida State Medical School; board member of the Health Care Center for the Homeless; member, 1,000 Friends of Florida; board member of the Central Florida Efficient Transportation for the Community (ETC), board member of the Citrus Club, African American Chamber and president of Florida Executive Women. Pritchard was the only female member of the Citizen’s Oversight Committee for the Orlando Convention Center construction project. She’s been a part of numerous conservation committees and was also appointed by Florida’s governor as a Seminole County Housing Authority commissioner.
Her sincere commitment to her local, regional and global communities has resulted in numerous honors, awards and recognitions. Among those, she was named one of Orlando Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful in Entertainment & the Arts and Women Who Mean Business by the Orlando Business Journal. She was awarded the Heart for the Arts award from the Seminole County Council for the Arts. Her leadership awards include recognition for outstanding service from The National Conference for Community and Justice and the Association to Preserve the Eatonville Community. Her dynamic personality and unending commitment have been recognized and honored globally.
