James Liu

James Liu, is Director and Head Veterinarian at the Turtle Conservancy, where he leads veterinary care, oversees animal welfare, and manages confiscated wildlife. As part of a global network supporting endangered species, he directs the intake and rehabilitation of turtles rescued from illegal trade. At the TC, he often leads tours, highlighting species conservation, breeding programs, and veterinary practices. Liu’s previous roles include positions at the National Park Service, UC Davis One Health Institute, San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research, and the Los Angeles Zoo.
