Simon Rouot

Simon Rouot is the Associate Director of the Turtle Conservancy. Growing up in France, Simon got his first red eared slider when he was 7 years old and quickly became passionate with turtles. As a teenager he would spend most of his time doing research on turtles and rapidly started to volunteer in developing non-profits such as the Village des Tortues or the Refuge des Tortues. Simon started working at the Turtle Conservancy as an intern during his exchange year while studying in Sciences Po Paris where he graduated with a Masters in Environmental Policies in 2020. Having kept turtles for most of his life and traveled around the world to study them in the wild, Simon has developed great expertise on husbandry and conservation strategies. Simon is now working daily on the management of the center, conservation programs and expansion of the TC. Finally, he focuses his research on the history of herpetology, bibliography and turtle-related art topics.
